To See
Known for the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. A monument in the middle of the rocking sea. A ride to the rock in boat is really adventurous.
Here you can see both Sunrise and Sunset is from the sea, and it is one of the main tourist attraction here.
Golden Hues of the Horizon are very impressive with the Rock Memorial silhouetted.

- Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) of neighbouring state Kerala, is the nearest international airport, with direct flights from the Middle East, Singapore, Maldives and Sri Lanka. And is served by Air-India (http://www.airindia.com/page.asp?pageid=126), among others. From there two hour Train or Bus.
- or you can reach Chennai (Madras) the state capital and catch Train or Bus.
- Alternatively reach Kochi, Kozhikode (Calicut), Bangalore, Bombay, New Delhi, Calcutta and then by train.
By Train
Very well connected and serviced by rail to all major cities in India like Madras, Trivandrum , Kochi, Bangalore, Bombay, New Delhi, Calcutta, Coimbatore etc. And from here starts second longest train route in the world, Kanyakumari to Jammu.

The long distance bus are available from Chennai (Madras), Coimbatore, Madurai etc.
