This is Japan's cheapest ferry, just 50 yen for a three minute ride (2005 price). Bicycles also cost 50 yen. The ferry is seen here under the Wakato O-hashi bridge with the Tobata landing stage on the left.
In August 2005 the ferry has been used for the first time to cruise the Dokaiwan area between Wakamatsu and Tobata wards. Hopefully this experiment will lead to regular cruising in future.
