Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf is a political construct of the two former Berlin districts Charlottenburg and Wilmersdorf. Charlottenburg is the heart of West Berlin and stretches between the KuDamm (jointly shared with Wilmersdorf) and the castle Charlottenburg in the north. Wilmersdorf has always been an upper class inner city villa area. It is quiter but has nice restaurants and cafes.

Understand
Charlottenburg is divided in two areas. The southern part of the district is one of the wealthier areas of Berlin with posh flats and apartements. The northern part is a nice living area. Charlottenburg was the center of the former West Berlin and was really good built-up after the war. Today it's mostly an upmarket shopping and living area for city slickers. Charlottenburg has a big wealthy russian scene, so sometimes people talk about Charlottograd. Wilmersdorf is a living area with mostly smaller or single houses/villas. Wilmersdorf is a wealthy area where lots of families live.
Get in
Charlottenburg is the heart of the City West and spreads from the trade fair centre in the west to the Ku'Damm in the east. Best way to travel is the public transport or by bike. There are few parking slots. Wilmersdorf has an extensive bus system and through the S- and U-stations Heidelberger Platz or Fehrbelliner Platz
U-Bahn
- For the central bus station the U-and S-Bahnstation Kaiserdamm / Messe ZOB ICC is the best station
- If you want ot ride the bus along the whole Ku'Damm best jump of U-Bahn Wittenbergplatz oder S-Bahn Halensee (east to west or vv)
- For the Schloss (castle) Charlottenburg the U-Bahn Richard-Wagner-Platz is best
- U-and S-Bahn station Bahnhof Zoo is best for the Zoo or a short walk to the Ku'Damm. Friends of the partner city Los Angelas can walk right to the Los Angeles friendship place
- Kudamm is best reached by U-Bahnstation Kurfürstendamm or Wittenbergplatz

- Egyptian Museum (Ägyptisches Museum). [2]. One of the most important Egyptological collections in the world. Includes the famous bust of the queen Nefertiti.
