Get in
You can walk from Selcuk. It is a 4km walk in a pedestrian way. Most pensions and hotels in Selcuk offer rides to Ephesus. It is also possible to take a taxi, which is relatively expensive, around 10 TYL, compared to other Turkish transportation.
Tourists also come in by cruise ship via the port of Kuşadası.
Get around
The grounds of Ephesus are seen entirely on foot. Uneven dirt and cobble pathways are easily navigated as you make your way through the park. Fortunately, the ruins are situated on the bank of a hill. Most visitors arrive at the upper gates and make their way downhill to the exit gates.
See
Buy
While in Kusadasi, you will mostly encounter street shops inside bazaars. The sellers will wait for you outside their stores and practically push you to go in. Don't be alarmed, however, they are just trying to do business. If you want to purchase something, ask the salesman the price first and, then, negociate your way through. They are expecting a negociation and will not be offended, unless you try to lower the price by more than half.In Kusadasi, you will be able to find excellent copies of famous brand purses and also of clothes brands. They call it "genuine fake"
Eat
Drink
There are two cafes/souvenir shops at the far end. It is a good idea to bring your own food and picnic because of the high prices they charge you. Note that inside the recint you cannot buy food or drink.
Sleep
Ephesus itself does not have any accommodation for rent. Nearby Selcuk and Kusadasi have accommodations to suit every style.
