Khabarovsk is a city in East Siberia, Russia, near the Chinese border.

Get in

The international planes available from Seoul and Neigata, otherwise domestic airlines from Moscow. Would not recommend any other type of transport unless it's not your first time in Russia.

By plane

Khabarovsk's airport mainly functions as a refueling and emergency landing point for polar flights between North America and Asia. The main carriers in the region are Dalavia, Vostok Airlines, and Far Eastern Aviation. There are scheduled passenger flights to Khabarovsk from Japan, China, North Korea and South Korea, and Israel.

By train

Khabarovsk is served by the Trans-Siberian Railway. It is about 800 km from Vladivostok and about 8500 km, by train, from Moscow.

Get around

The best thing to start with is to walk around center part of city. Have a nice walk from Lenin square to Amur river via main street called Muravieva-Amurski. You will find all sorts of shops and place to eat.

Cuisine consists of traditional russian restaurants and different Asian style places. Italian food also common. Great variety of cheap fast-food outlets on the streets available. Price starts from $3 for good snack on the street to $5-10 Golden Bird fast food chain. For $10-20 meals in small restaurants available. If you up for most expensive place, a $50-100 meals with view on Sunset and Amur river available at Hotel "Inturist".

Drink

Meet locals, who will teach you how to drink russian style. People are very friendly and in general you will find lots of locals who would love to practise their English. Don't miss an offer of russian "banya" (sauna) somewhere outside the city.
