Kimberley is a city in the Nothern Cape Province of South Africa. It is famous for the Big Hole, a very deep hole that was created when hundreds of people searched for diamonds in the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. It is also one of the major cities in the Karoo.

The N12 runs from here to Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Around the Big Hole is the Diamond Museum, which boost the old settlers village, some show rooms with old machines and a shop, where you can buy diamonds at prime rates.

- Go to Bloemfontein, South Africa's judicial capital.
- Go north to Upington (follow N12 westwards until it crosses the N10 to Upington) and from there to the Kgalagadi Transfontier Park.
