Most people in Limburg speak Dutch, with standard pronunciation. English, German, French and Limburgish (a regional language) are also spoken although not (fluently) by everyone.

By Plane

  • Maastricht/Aachen Airport is a regional airport located near Maastricht. Currently, there are daily scheduled flights to Amsterdam and Berlin. (flights to Berlin end January 5, 2007)
  • Brussels' Zaventem Airport can be reached in an hour from Mid- and South-Limburg.

By Train

The Dutch railway serves Limburg with regional branches and intercity-branches to Amsterdam and The Hague.
