For a very upscale experience, try the Renaissance Chancery Court London, which is actually a Marriott hotel. It is in an older building that has been beautifully renovated. The beds are very, very comfortable, the rooms are a good size and very quiet. Has a nice, though small, health club. There is high speed internet, but the charge has been 15 pounds per day. The hotel is air conditioned. The hotel is within walking distance of lots of attractions, including the theatre district. The staff is extremely helpful. A great experience, if you can pay the rates.
