Yogyakarta is a bustling town of some 500,000 people and the most popular tourist destination on the island of Java, Indonesia. Not only is it close to the stunning temples of Borobudur and Prambanan, but the town is a center of art and education, offers some good shopping and has a wide range of tourist facilities. Off the beaten path

Praised by many as one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world, South Luangwa National Park is one of Zambia's main draws. This 9,050-square-kilometer park is centered around the Luangwa River and is home to one of Africa's largest concentrations of wildlife. All flights to new Bangkok airport

Starting today, all flights to and from the Thai capital Bangkok move to the new Suvarnabhumi Airport. The first day was relatively smooth, but allow extra time and avoid check-in baggage if possible. (more...)

Carry-on limits relaxed

The US and Canada now allow toiletries (3 oz max), lip gloss and hand lotion, as well as bringing on board items bought at the airport, while UK airports allow one standard-size cabin bag again. (more...)
