UNESCO World Heritage sites

• Old Town in Warsaw - after the settlement in Jazdów has been destroyed by Mendog in 1265, the new medieval Warsaw was located north of the Castle, which is presently the Old Town. The Old Town was completely destroyed by the German Wehrmacht and SS after the Warsaw Uprising [1] in 1944, but with a tremendous effort it was rebuilt as early as in the 1950s (the Royal Castle reconstruction was delayed until the 1970s for ideological reasons).
