Moshi is a medium sized town at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. As such, it serves as a base for many of the treks up the mountain with several reputable tour operators operating out of the town. It is also close to the mountain villages of Marangue and Machame, from which originate two of the more popular routes up the mountain.

Get in

Scandinavian operates a luxury bus from Dar (takes about 8 hours and costs ~ $25). There are also regular Precision Air flights into Kilimanjaro airport, which is about 30 minutes outside the city.

Parkview Inn is probably the best hotel in Moshi Town and offers great food. But sal salinero offers the best and high quality rooms starting from 75$ to 120$
