kadjai is in the deep rural south of bg, unemployment runs fairley high,it is fairley geographically isolated, theese factors coupled with the communist pullout make kadjali EXTREEMLEY CHEAP..weather wise the climate is semi mediteranean, not surprising as it boarders 35miles to greece 35 miles turkey it is farliy mountainous ,the hills covered with oak and pine ...air is of good quality, water is pure all food is organic as no pesticides ars used [they cant afford them]..a few brit pioneers ,like myself are buying houses there..it will be a godsend when plodive airport runs 365..24/7..bulgaria is in nato and joins eu inless than 2 years..prices will rise..but at the moment,it must be the cheapest place to buy and renovate as a bricklayer who works 12 hour days for 6 days a week will earn a monthley wage of 140 pounds ...ther are no religious tensions from the muslems...of turkisk origin..food and wine is superbe, fresh, and organic.a steak meal with wine in a resturante with a brandy [rakia]is in kadjali ..3.50 pounds..the main bread winner appeares to be tobacco and grapes..there are no polluting industeies..indeed it would be fair to say the area is beutifull but economically depressed..as i understand ,you dont need a licencs in kajali provence.i recomend,,www.bulgarianproperties.com...b.t.udall however in winter its minus 3 with snowfor cheap sking
