Me

I'm Jan, living in Zurich, Switzerland but originally from Berlin, Germany. Travelling is my favorite hobby and luckily my job keeps me travelling, too. I would like to pass on some travel knowledge that I gained because I used some tips from this site.

Countries

Europe

So far I travelled most countries in Western and Central Europe only Ireland, Finland and Portugal are left. I was in Eastern Europe mainly for business (except Lithuania on an exchange program) and this year I want to visit Dublin and see how it is on this green island

North America

I visited Canada (mostly Ontario) and the United States (so far New York City and Florida). Both countries are huge and therefore I would like to see the west coast (California and British Columbia) because I had no time to visit these area.

Caribbean and South America

This is my favorite region and Cuba, Peru, Argentina and Uruguay where total amazing visits that I will never forget. The friendliness of the people, their positive attitude to live and of course their willingness to party let me come back again and again.

Asia

I travelled for three weeks through China and it was a whole new experience. Singapore and Malaysia where amazing too. I even found my greater grandfather's graveyard in Singapore. I was at the airport in Bangkok for several times but I guess that doesn't count as a visit;-)

Australia

So far only six weeks in Australia (Queensland, Darwin and Western Australia are missing). French Polynesia and New Zealand are quite far away from home but one day I will go their

Africa

I was two weeks in Cape Town and enjoyed it very much. The tiny spanish enclave Ceuta on the African continent was amazing,too. While we tore the wall down in Berlin a new is built their.

Next Destinations

My preferred destinations for the next years are New Zealand, Japan, India and Brazil.

Docent

I signed myself up as a docent for Berlin. It's my home town and I love that city. Don't hesitate to ask me if you have any question. The best way to contact me is on my talk page. There I set up an area for Berlin.
