Cincinnati, Ohio's third largest city in lies on the north shore of the Ohio river and borders Kentucky. Referred to as the Queen city, it is surrounded by picturesque foothills on all sides giving it a great view and a legendary skyline for which one local chili brand is named after. The months of September and October draw the crowds of tourists and families thanks to Riverfest, Oktoberfest, and Tall Stacks. (more...)

Penticton and Skaha Lake

Penticton is a beautiful spot in the south Okanagan region of British Columbia, Canada, nestled between two lakes. Tourism in Penticton is largely seasonal. In the summer tourists double Penticton's population to 60,000, while in the winter you may be hard pressed to find more than a handful of people on the streets after dark. (more...)

UK carry-on rules eased

Effective today, a single small carry-on bag, which may contain electronics, is allowed on flights leaving the UK. Liquids, gels and pastes remain banned both in the UK and the US. (more...)

Philippine volcano warning

7 August 2006

Mount Mayon, Philippines' biggest volcano, is predicted to erupt in the next few days and Philippine authorities have evacuated around 35000 people living within 8km of the crater. Travel is not advised to the immediate area around the volcano. (more...)
