From Wikitravel
This page describes the criteria for determining the article status of travel topic articles.
| Status | Name | Description
|
| 0 | Vfd
| Not an article, with a page name that has little or no prospect of being turned into an article or being redirected to an article. While it may contain information, that information does not meet Wikitravel's goals.
|
| 1 | Stub
| An article with no information in it, or not formatted even close to the manual of style. An article with no template or outline headers would have this status.
|
| 2 | Outline
| Has at least an introduction (this can be as short as a single sentence explaining what the topic is) and an outline of headers laid out for the article, similar to standard Wikitravel destination templates. Some of the sections of the outline may have content, but not all of them.
|
| 3 | Usable
| Has at least a good overview of the topic, and some useful material under each outline heading.
|
| 4 | Guide
| Effectively covers most aspects of the topic with no obvious omissions. If practical, it should contain a listing of relevant destinations. The format should closely match the manual of style.
|
| 5 | Star
| Covers the topic fully. Layout and listings either match the manual of style exactly or are the exception that proves the rule. Prose is not only near-perfect grammatically but also tight, effective, and enjoyable. At least one good-quality photo or illustration accompanies the article. If practical (such as for a niche activity), it has a map identifying relevant destinations.
