Yamaguchi prefecture (山口県 Yamaguchi-ken) is in the western Chugoku region of the main Japanese island Honshu. It is the westernmost prefecture in the island.

Understand
There is not any big city in this prefecture.
But instead, there are a lot of various, attractive and interesting small cities in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
And in the outskirts of those cities, traditional Japanese rural landscapes are still left to be seen.

- Shimonoseki — Historical city guarding the Straits of Kanmon(Shimonoseki is the largest city in the prefecture.)
- Yamaguchi — The prefectural capital
- Iwakuni — A castle town with the beautiful bridge "Kintaikyo"
- Hagi — One of the most beautiful castle towns in Japan
- Hofu — An old city with a famous shrine which is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, kami of scholarship
- Ube — A modern city with sculpture, park and airport

Yamaguchi Ube Airport(UBJ), the prefectural airport is in Ube city. Yamaguchi Ube Airport regularly connects to Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan. Both JAL and ANA are offering the flights from Haneda to Ube. It's about 90 minutes' flight from Haneda to Ube.
