Uto (宇土) is in Kumamoto prefecture on the island of Kyushu, Japan.

Get in
Uto is a stop on the JR Kagoshima Line.
By train
From Hakata station in Fukuoka, take a Relay Tsubame or Ariake limited express train to Kumamoto and transfer to a Kagoshima line local train for the run to Uto (1 hour 40 minutes, ¥4090). Local trains from Fukuoka take about 2 1/2 hours at a cost of ¥2420 (at least one change of trains required).
